Crust:
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Filling:
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 large egg yolks
- Zest of 1 large lime
- 1/3 cup lime juice
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
1: Preheat
the oven to 350°F.
2: For the
crust, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter in a large bowl
until well incorporated.
3: Pour the
mixture into a pie plate and pat downs the bottom and sides.
4: Place
into the preheated oven and bake it for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
5: For the
filling, stir the milk and egg yolks until well blended. And then, add in the
lime zest and lime juice.
6: When the
pie crust has cooled until room temperature, pour the lime filling over the pie
crust.
7: Place
into the preheated oven again and bake it for 10 to 12 minutes.
8: Remove
the pie out from the oven and let it cool completely.
9: Chill the
pie in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
10: Slice to
serve and serve cold.
